Top Ten Tuesday(Top Ten Inspirational Characters)

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by those awesome bloggers @ The Broke and the Bookish.

This week's theme is Inspirational Characters.
Now, I'm not going to lie to you. But this took me forever! It might have been how I kept chatting with people on Twitter(most likely) or it might have been because I'm lazy and slow(again, likely), so here's what I came up with:

1. Katniss Everdeen - Katniss is the main character in Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Now I found Suzanne Collins through her Gregor The Overlander books, wait scratch that, my friend on Shelfari, recommended Hunger Games to me and told me that "in the book, the kids fight to their death in an arena." So I'm all, "Well, thanks for that, now I probably won't read it.", but idiot that I am, I went to the library, picked it up and took it home, who knew I would have finished it within the night? And I went on to read Catching Fire and strangled myself a couple of times while waiting for Mockingjay, but Katniss will ALWAYS(ALWAYS) be my hero :)

2. Calla Tor - Calla is from Nightshade by Andrea Cremer. It came out last year, and I remember thinking "OMG! Do you see that gorgeous cover?? Even if the book sucks, get it so you can look at the pretty cover!", yeah, crazy person I was! I finished reading it a couple of nights ago. Wait! No, I read it a couple of nights ago because I read the thing in less than a day. And seriously, I'm going to strangle myself waiting for Wolfsbane too!

3. Ashley Hannigan - Ashley is from Prom by Laurie Halse Anderson. I read it today(January 17) and realized that Ashley is almost just like me! Doesn't care what others think of her(helloooo), is sometimes rude and seriously, you'd have to pay me a hundred bucks just to get me in a dress. Not to mention shoes, jewelry, make-up *shudders* Yes, I'm just that weird :P But, now, I'm thinking that I might actually WANT to go to Prom. Better start saving then, the book taught me A LOT. So, she inspired me to go to Prom. Sounds weird.

4. Katie - Katie is from Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks. I know she was in an abusive relationship, but she got out. I've never been in an abusive relationship, and I hope I'll never be in one. But she's inspiring, because she got out when she could. She knew he'd come after her, but she runaway anyway.

5. Mary Lou - Mary Lou is from Absolutely Normal Chaos by Sharon Creech. To me, she's inspirational because she writes in her journal almost every day and tells whats happening. I've never been able to keep a journal for very long(very suspicious of spies :O) and I've never been able to write every day. Sometimes I just forget. Maybe it's faith, or maybe it's my laziness.

6. Anna - Anna is from My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. My family has had a lot of medical problems in the past. My brother has kidney failure, so I know what it's like to be in the hospital waiting and waiting to make sure your family is safe. Anna made what she thought was a right choice by not giving her sister her kidney, and I think that if my brother needed a kidney, and I was a perfect match, I would hand it over. Not because I don't want the same ending to happen to me, but because it's the right choice. To me anyway.

7. Cammie Morgan - Cammie is from Cross My Heart and Hope To Spy. Ever since I started reading about her, I've wanted to become a spy. No, I'm not ducking in spaces my house, hiding in dark places and watching people walk by. Although that would be kind of amusing. No, your not getting any pictures or videos :P

8. Ever - Ever is from the Immortals series(I'm talking about Blue Moon(book number 2) right now though) by Alyson Noel. In Blue Moon, she was protective and I've grown to be protective of my family and friends now. In fact, I'm probably to the point of annoying them by now.

9. Lena Duchannes - Lena is from Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl. From Lena, I've learned that you should be secretive and not tell anyone anything. If you tell them one thing, then your going to end up telling them everything. So go ahead and take your risks!

10. Lennie Walker - Lennie is from The Sky Is Every Where by Jandy Nelson. To me, Lennie has taught me to love, laugh and live while I still can. You can never be sure about something, but you might as well jump head first(metaphorically speaking, of course).

Those are my top ten! I bet I could list more than a few more. So, I want to know, what are YOUR top ten inspirational characters?

Top Ten Tuesday(Top Ten Bookish/Blogging Resolutions)

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the awesome bloggers @ The Broke and the Bookish.
I hope you guys had an awesome weekend! This week's theme is Top Ten Bookish/Blogging Resolutions. HA! We aren't done with resolutions yet, apparently. Anyway, I'm sure you have a list as long as your TBR, just like me, but top ten...Here we go:

BOOKISH RESOLUTIONS:
1. I want to read more non-fiction. No, I won't review them, just actually read them!
2. Read more historical stuff. I'm not much of a history person, but if I had to read it on my own, I might actually read it.
3. Get my TBR under control. I have a little under 300 books on my TBR at the moment, I want to get that down to a little under 100.
4. Get more books on my shelf. I mostly get books from the library, I'd like to get a bigger shelf selection =)
5. Read books from more debut authors.

BLOGGING RESOLUTIONS:
6. Comment on people's blogs. I follow 100+ blogs, but don't comment very often. I'd like to change that.
7. Meet more book bloggers. I love talking to you all on Twitter and you guys welcomed me in your "circles" with open arms, I love ya guys!
8. Post more exciting posts. AKA: More things about what famous authors are writing or up to, cover releases, etc..
9. Stay caught up with reviews. I get so far behind sometimes, but gradually, you guys are helping me catch up :)
10. Sign-up on people's blogs via e-mail.

There, 5 bookish resolutions and 5 blogging resolutions. I hope ya'll are happy. :P

So, what are your goals for this year?
MAKE SURE TO LEAVE YOUR LINK IN THE COMMENTS SO I CAN COME SEE YOUR'S TOO!

Top Ten Tuesday(Top Ten Books I Resolve To Read in 2011)

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
I could easily list all of Nicholas Sparks books, or a certain series, but I'm not that boring and lazy.
Top Ten Books I Resolve To Read in 2011 (in no particular order):

 1. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins - The problem is getting it from a bookstore. My library won't buy it(not yet anyway), so I'm on the look out for it!
2. Prom and Prejudice by Elizabeth Eulburg - The cover is marvelous and I've heard it's a good book, so, why not?
3. Room by Emma Donoghue - I've waited months for this to come in at the library and I am going to read it, nothing can stop me!
4. Evernight by Claudia Gray - It's been on my TBR for at least 4 months and it looks good. I've been wanting to read the series, so here's to Evernight!
5. Hush,Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick - I checked it out last year and immediately returned it, because I was afraid of the cover. Sissy, I know.
6. Dracula by Bram Stocker - It's a classic, but all other vampire books hate it. Wanna find out why.
7. Oh.My.Gods by Tera Lynn Childs - Been looking for this one for a couple of months. Seems not to exist :/
8. Pet Sematary by Stephen King - It would be my first time reading by King. I've heard he's good and bad, so I want to get my own opinion.
9. Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher - Again, I've heard this one is brilliant. And I've seen some regrets of reading it, so I want to see what I think.
10. The Summoning by Kelly Armstrong - Interesting cover and I've heard the whole series is good. Wanna find  out if it's a series I'm interested in.

Make sure to comment with your link so I can come see what you picked!

Top Ten Tuesday!

This is my first time contributing to Top Ten Tuesday, so let me know if I get anything wrong ;)

Is hosted by Jessi @ The Broke and the Bookish

This week's theme is what fictional characters would we want to be BFFs(Best Friends Forever) with! Here are my picks..

10) Ever from Evermore(The Immortals) by Alyson Noel. Because how cool would it be to be friends with an immortal?
9) Clary from The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare; she's unique! Her mom used to be married to a 'devil' in my mind anyway! It would be awesome! lol
8) Percy Jackson from Percy Jackson and the Olympians; I'd love to help with some of his quests! Most are dangerous, but I'd still want to her! Or at least be a demi-god :D
7) Janie Hannigan from Wake trilogy; Ok, I really wouldn't want her to be able to see my dreams, but she'd share my pain/happiness LOL
6) Ava from I Heart You, You Haunt Me; I'd help her through it! Wish I could be her though..
5) Samantha from American Girl; She saved the President! Of course I'd want to be her friend ;)
4) Ronnie from The Last Song; I could help her cope from the ending(ain't gonna say what happened because of you who haven't read it ;). I'm a good friend ;)
3) Zoey Redbird from Marked; Hellloooooooo? Who wouldn't want to be the friend of a vampire?? Well, a fledging anyway.
2) Coraline from Coraline; Scary though, right? But still interesting!
1) I'd want to be friends with BELLA from TWILIGHT. Oh, come on..You knew you were thinking the same thing!

Next week I'll be naming off my favorite places to read! Who do you want to be friends with?
