2011 Book Blogger Recommendation Challenge

Book Blogger Recommendation Challenge is hosted by Reading with Tequila.

I gave up not trying to sign-up for a bunch of challenges a long time ago, so, here's another one!

What you have to do is, make a post linking to Reading With Tequila, with a list of the books your planning to read off of the Book Blogger Recommendation list. I've already read some of them this year, so yippee. lol. 

The Levels:
Level I - Read 5 books from the 2010 Book Blogger Recommendation List
Level II - Read 10 books
Level III - Read 15 books
Level IV - Read 20 books
Level V - Read 20+ books

I always like a challenge, so lets go with Level V(or 5) - Read 20+ books. Here's the list I'm hoping to read:

My goal is to read 25 of those 33 books listed. Let's hope I do!

2011 YA Reading Challenge

*grimaces* Well, I'm taking on a new nickname besides Night Owl, Bookaholic, Readaholic & Hannah Banana. Challenge-a-holic! Beautiful, eh?

14 Reading Challenges to do in 2011. I'm going to have to have a whole cheerleading squad to get me through. . .Any volunteers?

On to the beautiful challenge. This challenge should be particularly easy. You guys know I mostly review YA books here, so I'm hoping to max out the levels(LOL). So, this is coming straight off the hostess's blog: Jamie from For The Love Of YA is hosting this challenge this year!

"Last year I participated in the Young Adult Challenge that J. Kaye's book blog was hosting.  But from what I can see J. Kaye isn't blogging anymore and I really wanted to do this challenge again.  So here it is...with a wonky button to start off with...but it's here.

Here are the rules:

1. Anyone can join. You don't need a blog to participate.  Create a post about the challenge and link your challenge post up in the linky below.

--Non-Bloggers: Post your list of books in the comment section of the wrap-up post.

2. There are four levels:

--The Mini YA Reading Challenge – Read 12 Young Adult novels.

--The "Fun Size" YA Reading Challenge – Read 20 Young Adult novels.

--The Jumbo Size YA Reading Challenge – Read 40 Young Adult novels.

--The Mega size YA Reading Challenge – Read 50+ Young Adult novels.

3. Audio, eBooks, paper, re-reads all count.

You heard her! It looks like I'm going to need a page for every challenge after all..I hope it's easier for you guys to go look at them if I have separate pages.  Ahh, crap.I forgot I can only have 10 pages. Well, there goes that idea.

100+ Reading Challenge

Well I did it again. . .I joined ANOTHER reading challenge. So how do you say it. . .I'm screwed! I've joined 13(?) reading challenges, counting this one. Good thing they all allow overlaps. . .

Anyway. . .The 411 on this challenge:

DETAILS:

1. The goal is to read 100 or more books. Anyone can join. You don't need a blog to participate. Posting on GoodReads or wherever you post your reviews is good enough.

2. Audio, Re-reads, eBooks, YA, Manga, Graphic Novels, Library books, Novellas, Young Reader, Nonfiction – as long as the book has an ISBN or equivalent or can be purchased as such, the book counts.

What doesn't count: Individual short stories or individual books in the Bible.

3. No need to list your books in advance. You may select books as you go. Even if you list them now, you can change the list if needed.

4. Crossovers from other reading challenges count.

5. Challenge begins January 1st thru December, 2011. Books started before the 1st do not count. You can join at anytime.

All the books I read next year will be posted on the sidebar(<<< or >>>) and will be numbered OR I will be creating a page for each challenge(WOW.. .That's a lot of pages, but could be interesting. . .). Any feedback would help!

Support Your Library 2011 Challenge

There are four levels:
--The Mini – Check out and read 25 library books.
--Just My Size – Check out and read 50 library books.
--Stepping It Up – Check out and read 75 library books.
--Super Size Me – Check out and read 100 library books.
(Aim high. As long as you read 25 by the end of 2011, you are a winner.)

3. Audio, Re-reads, eBooks, YA, Young Reader – any book as long as it is checked out from the library count. Checked out like with a library card, not purchased at a library sale.

4. No need to list your books in advance. You may select books as you go. Even if you list them now, you can change the list if needed.

5. Crossovers from other reading challenges count.

6. Challenge begins January 1st thru December, 2011

Wish I'd Read That 2011 Challenge!

Ok before you start talking about how I'm joining every challenge, you gotta admit that I haven't actually joined all of them. That's me. The blog-a-holic, book-a-holic, read-a-holic and challenge-a-holic. Now we can get down to business on this challenge!

There are 4 levels.

Curious -- Read 3 books

Fascinated -- Read 6 books

Addicted -- Read 12 books

Obsessed - Read 20 books

I still think that they are going to have to make a couple of more levels for me..Otherwise I'll have to wing it and come up with my own levels, because as many of you know, I'm got a TBR with 227 books rotting away. LOL Just  kidding. But my TBR is 227 books long. I'm hoping to get at least 200 done. But we all know by then it will be back to that long! I just can't win!

Shoot. . .Getting off topic. NOW back to the challenge. . .

It starts January 1st and ends December 31st. You can join at any time. All kinds of books count(meaning...e-books, audio, hardcover, paperback, etc..). You can list your books that your going to read now OR just post them in the wrap-up post at the end of next year. Whatever works for you!

11-11 Challenge

This challenge isn't hosted on a blog. One that I could find anyway. But here are the details:

What you have to do is come up with a list of eleven(11) categories. The categories can be totally random or simple. EXAMPLE:

Category 1: Books That Have Been On My TBR For More Than 3 Months
Category 2: I'd Tag That - Books From Play Book Tag(Shelfari)
Category 3: New Authors!
Category 4: Recommended
Category 5: Vampires
Category 6: Series Books
Category 7: Short Books(Shorter than 200 pages)
Category 8: I Must Be The Only One Left That Hasn't Read This
Category 9: Fantasy
Category 10: Books I Own
Category 11: Books From Library

Now above is my list of categories, but I'm using it as an example!  Now some of those are really simple. Series books, Books I Own, New Authors, Recommended, etc..But some are complete nonsense to some of you. Like I'd Tag That. I'd Tag That is for my reading group on shelfari. Maybe you know about it, maybe you don't!

Anyway, you just choose categories(meaning, MAKE THEM UP!) and make sure there are 11 of them. Then, every time you read a book that fits under that category, put the book's title and author. (EXAMPLE: below)

2011 Nicholas Sparks Reading Challenge

Allison Whitmore was a normal girl trying to make it through the next math test with a boyfriend biker, but after she crashes his bike, she dies...Or so she thought until she woke up to find a hot guy standing over her telling her that she's a shape-shifter..But everyone knows shape-shifters don't exist. But when she's sent off to Shape-Shifters School..How will she survive?

2011 Challenge...Already??

Hi guys & gals!! I was cruising around on my favorite library site(Shelfari) and I went into one of my reading groups and my friend had posted some of the 2011 blog challenges going on! I was shocked that there was actually challenges already made up! I'm going to try and host one, any ideas???

Anyway, back to the real reason I'm blogging, I know I usually get off track! Dutchie from BA Reading Challenges is hosting many, many reading challenges and I wanted to let you guys know about the one I'm participating in! I think a lot of you guys will join this one!

2. Trying – Choose 15 books to read 
3. Making A Dint – Choose 30 books to read 
4. On A Roll – Choose 50 books to read 
5. Flying Off – Choose 75 books to read

For extra hard challenges

 I haven't chose the books I want to read yet, but I'm going to start off easy with the Tempted level and just work my way up. I'm hoping to get all the way to Buried though.
