Series: Wake Trilogy #3
Author: Lisa McMann
Source: Library
Date Finished: December 27th, 2010
Summary of Book:
Janie thought she knew what her future held. And she thought she'd made her peace with it. But she can't handle dragging Cabel down with her.
She knows he will stay with her, despite what she sees in his dreams.
He's amazing.
And she's a train wreck.
Janie sees only one way to give him the life he deserves--she has to disappear.
And it's going to kill them both.
Then a stranger enters her life--and everything unravels. The future Janie once faced now has an ominous twist, and her choices are more dire than she'd ever thought possible. She alone must decide between the lesser of two evils.
And time is running out...
Review:
Another good cover for the series. Although the chair seems kind of odd sitting there. I think my favorite cover from the series would have to be Wake's cover. I mean, all of them are awesome, but Wake is still #1.
I was kind of surprised that this one didn't really answer all my questions. And I have to agree with others that this one wasn't as good as the others, but still a 5 star book. Not a favorite though.
I was scared for both her and Cabe. They were in love and Janie was a "trail-wreck" as put above. And I seriously thought Cabe would ask her to marry him somewhere in the book, but surprise, surprise, he didn't. I'm still a fan of Lisa McMann and how she can make me feel just like Janie, but the last one was kind of a downer.
*PROCEED WITH CAUTION - SPOILERS BELOW*
It was a great twist that her dad was in the hospital instead of her mom. I didn't even think that her dad was anywhere near her, let alone in the same town. And he isolated himself. But I think Janie made the right choice, by not isolating herself.
But, I want to know, would you isolate yourself until your brain explodes or would you live a somewhat normal life until you turn blind and crippled?
☺☺☺☺☺
