Review: Evermore

SUMMARY:
Since a horrible accident claimed the lives of her family, sixteen-year-old Ever can see auras, hear people's thoughts, and know a person’s life story by touch. Going out of her way to shield herself from human contact to suppress her abilities has branded her as a freak at her new high school—but everything changes when she meets Damen Auguste… Ever sees Damen and feels an instant recognition. She feels different when he touches her even his presence make her feel better. He is gorgeous, exotic and wealthy, and he holds many secrets. Damen is able to make things appear and disappear, he always seems to know what she’s thinking—and he’s the only one who can silence the noise and the random energy in her head.  She doesn’t know who he really is—or what he is. Damen equal parts light and darkness, and he belongs to an enchanted new world where no one ever dies.
REVIEW:
I was reluctant at first to continue reading this book after someone told me it's like Twilight. I've read the Twilight Saga and love it, but I don't wanna read another rewrite of it. Fortunately, I made myself continue reading and suddenly found myself at the end of the book. Here's a little run-down.
Evermore's family was in a car accident when a deer jumped out in front of their car. Evermore's father swerved to try and miss the deer, causing the car to crash into a tree. Her mother, sister and father all died. Evermore was close to dying as well. But was saved.
After the funeral, Evermore moved to California to live with her lawyer aunt. Her aunt gives her everything, a big room to herself, bean bags, a computer, cell phone, everything a teenager wants, she gets. But she doesn't enjoy it. She doesn't enjoy anything after her family dies. With her new power of reading minds and practically being a physic, she puts herself in lock-down. She goes from popular to a girl with 2 friends. She wears hoodies and hides under them. She blares music into her ears from her ipod she doesn't even like.
That is, until Damon arrives. He's gorgeous, sexy and a girl's image of perfect. Evermore thinks he's playing with her when one day, he's giving her red tulips and the next, sitting at the popular table, giving roses to the popularest girl in school.
But Evermore thinks there's something really wrong about him. He's prefect with everything. Painting, surfing, gambling, you name it. But according to him, he sucks at love.
When Damon's old wife appears and goes after Evermore, there's going to be a fight. Evermore manages to get Damon, kill his old wife and get immortality. What girl could ask for more?
