Title: Blue Moon
Series: The Immortals #2
Author: Alyson Noel
Source: Library
Finished: December 8th
Summary Of Book:
Alyson’s Noël’s bestselling Immortals series has been hailed as “addictive” “beautiful” “haunting” and “mesmerizing.” In the second installment, Ever can bring her family back from the dead—but only if she’s willing to sacrifice the guy she loves more than life itself.
Just as Ever is learning everything she can about her new abilities as an immortal, initiated into the dark, seductive world by her beloved Damen, something terrible is happening to him. As Ever’s powers are increasing, Damen’s are fading—stricken by a mysterious illness that threatens his memory, his identity, his life.
Desperate to save him, Ever travels to the mystical dimension of Summerland, uncovering not only the secrets of Damen’s past—the brutal, tortured history he hoped to keep hidden—but also an ancient text revealing the workings of time. With the approaching blue moon heralding her only window for travel, Ever is forced to decide between turning back the clock and saving her family from the accident that claimed them—or staying in the present and saving Damen, who grows weaker each day...
Review:
“"You left me." Not realizing until I've said my final good-bye and closed the door behind me, that he's not referring to the past. He's prophesying our future.”
Not everyone can predict the future like Immortals. Not everyone can predict the future period. Damen's one in a million. Literally.
I, for some reason, really wanted to read this one. I've heard that The Immortals series was just like Twilight. So, I wasn't exactly excited about reading it, until I realized that it's almost the complete opposite. Sure, they both could live forever and they both fall in love and turn into the same 'species' if you can even call vampires and immortals, 'species'. But, to me, both stories take a fall down different sides of a hill and run into different obstacles.
I think that this one was really special to me, because of how Ever handled things. She didn't break down crying in the middle of the hallway, she didn't slap Damen and try to get him to come back to her. She did nothing that made her look crazy.
She knew that she had to save Damen with all her heart and she did. Kinda.
I knew Roman was bad news the first time I read about him. I mean, no one could get all high schoolers to sit with each other. There's just no way. And he managed to do that. While brain washing them!! Can you say insane lunatic?
I wasn't surprised that Ever wanted to go back to the way things were. She lost the love of her life, what's there to live for? So she went back, and Riley gave her the sign she was waiting for. So I guess things were supposed to be that way.
Ever + Damen = Forever. Literally.
Wanna try an actual vampire series? Try the House of Night series by P.C. Cast, Kristin Cast
I recently just finished Nightstar the latest book in the series. Good. :) I agree with you these books are nothing like twilight. I actually like Ever as a character better than Bella. I need to put up my reviews on the books. little behind.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Thank you!! Finally someone that agrees! xP Let me know when you put the reviews up! Wanna see what you have to say about them :)
