Review: The Invention Of Hugo Cabret

REVIEWING:
SUMMARY:
Orphan, clock keeper, and thief, Hugo lives in the walls of a busy Paris train station, where his survival depends on secrets and anonymity. But when his world suddenly interlocks with an eccentric, bookish girl and a bitter old man who runs a toy booth in the station, Hugo’s undercover life and his most precious secret are put in jeopardy. A cryptic drawing, a treasured notebook, a stolen key, a mechanical man, and a hidden message from Hugo’s dead father take part in this intricate, tender, and spellbinding mystery that doesn't take forever to read, despite it's appearance.

REVIEW:
I'm being totally honest with you -- but when I saw how thick this book was, I kinda freaked out. But I saw how short the pages are and it has a lot of pictures so I went ahead and read it ;)
I'm not sure if it was that the boy could fix things at his age, or because of what had happened to his father, that I couldn't put the book down.
In the beginning, I couldn't stop looking at the pictures. They were amazing. And then he tries fixing the automan and gets caught. Has to start working for the old man, whose nicer than he thought. He evens takes in Hugo, after he gets caught and the Inspector says he couldn't have fixed the clocks by himself! I'm happy that Hugo gets everything :)
